Furnace won't heat.
Four causes account for almost every no-heat call we run. Most are same-visit fixes once we identify which one. We diagnose in 45–90 minutes and quote in writing.
Common causes for this symptom.

Igniter failure.
Hot-surface igniters last roughly 3–5 years, spark igniters longer. When they crack, the burner never lights — you hear the gas valve click, then nothing. Replacement is a same-visit fix on most furnaces.

Flame sensor fouled.
A thin layer of carbon on the flame sensor rod makes the control board think the burner is not lit, so the gas valve shuts off seconds after ignition. Cleaning the sensor — not replacing it — fixes 80% of these.

Gas valve solenoid stuck.
The solenoid that opens the main gas line has stuck closed (often after a long off-season). The igniter glows, the inducer fan runs, but no gas reaches the burner. Replacement is required.

Blower motor capacitor weak.
The blower runs but moves too little air, the high-limit safety trips, and the furnace shuts down to prevent heat-exchanger damage. A weak capacitor is the most common cause of repeat short-cycle lockouts.
